AE has taken the reduced attribute flaw twice... N00b question probably but "reduced attribute flaw"? Is this summat from first ed coz I don't see anything in the 2e book about it?

Flaws (and Merits) were in the Players' Guide in 1st Ed. I'm not sure where they are in 2nd. Basically they're just other things you can buy at char creation using bonus points - merits cost points, flaws give you extra points.
The one LH is referring to is a flaw which gives you 3BP for each (normal, not BP-bought) attribute point you don't use.

AE has taken the reduced attribute flaw twice (his spread is effectively 7-5-5) entitling him to 21 BPs. We miscounted them (TBF, the sheet was made in a car). As for the aspect thing, yes. Yes you can. If you're particularly interested in my reasoning, then here it is: AE had very clear ideas about the feel of his character, which was air. Unfortunately, none of the abilities his character was good at were air abilities. Since this was his first time out as a DB and I didn't want to either punish him for having clear ideas about his character by making everything cost twice as much, or make him change his character I made the ruling. It's entirely superficial; it just changes the visual appearance of the character. If you want to do it as well, I won't stop you. Aha - clever. Can I do this too - I might drop a point of strength in order to get some extra BPs... It just seems a bit odd to me. I think the only relevant question would be what is his anima power? Other than that it's cool, I guess. I just think if he's fire he should be fire. Cos fire is the best one ;D I'm fire, and wouldn't dream of being anything else.

Anima power is fire. Everything is mechanically identical to fire.
Basically, all the fire effects (i.e. various lethal damage) are caused by lightning, which is aligned with air.

cool. though next time i speak to AE I will explain to him how fire is the best. and how he shouldn't be air, but rather just accept that fire is the best, and be real fire, instead of pretend air. ;D

Nah, Air and Wood are best - a matter of subtlety over brashness

yeah, air and wood are better. if you're booooooring. fire is for people who like fun and excitement. which is why my character is going to be 3 times as cool as the rest of you put together.

You can quantify it, can you? My air-aspect doesn't think your calculations stand up to rigorous scientific scrutiny. We are *infinitely* better BTW, anyone else think that AE's motivation is either an inflated ego or searing indictment of his RL job?

I mainly think that it's me taking the piss the ego one. Definitely the ego one.

Okay have made a few changes to Cobalt. Key points: - taken the reduced attrib flaw (-1 Charisma) for 3bp - Thrown -1, Presence -1, Stealth +1, Awareness +1, Integrity +1 - reworked specialities and added some more - swapped 2nd Larceny for 1st Ex. - not sure about what other charm to take, have marked 1st Melee but am not really happy with it. Anyone got any suggestions? - dropped Command and Ally (they don't really fit with char concept) - have upped Contact to 3 and taken Arsenal 1. Have a spare jade short daiklave if someone's ally wants it.

Interesting, looking good.
Should definitely take 1st excellency for DBs. 2nd is a waste of motes comparatively. since you can either get 1 success or 4 dice for the same cost. not sure about charms....
maybe another TAR?

What in though, is the question. Apart from Stealth, none of my other high skills are particularly useful to others. Athletics is a possibility, I guess. Yeah, mote efficiency means I'll probably swap my other excs for 1st as well.

Yeah, looking through TAR is not so good....
Do you have enough linguistics for "With One Mind" possibly one of the most awesome charms ever. I reckon if thrown is your primary combat ability you might want to get a couple more of those charms.
