Frustrated by the imperial encryption and annoyed by the setting sun in his eyes, Raffie responds somewhat monosyllabically to Y'lemon before glancing up at Jarakel. 'Hey Jackal, how we doing? We nearly there yet? How much further north is..' He suddenly tails off into silence as he realises what Y'lemon just said. When not in either a city or navigating in space, Raffie's sense of direction is frankly appalling, but he is getting a nasty feeling about the direction they're heading in. He leans over to Jarakel and taps him on the arm, motioning that he would like a quick word. He speaks quietly in shistavanen. 'Just out of curiosity, what direction did you say we were heading in when we set out this morning?'

Lu hears the scrambled message on the commlink, and lifts it out of Raffie's hand while he's distracted by Y'Lemon and Jarakel. She sniffs and begins to poke at it, wondering how to unencrypt it.
[Can she attempt to do so? I presume it's just a setting on the commlink, given that the spare one we've got is Imperial, after all... Feel free to roll for me; won't be able to do it myself until this evening @ earliest.]

[Basically when you set up your own encryption it removed the imperial encryption. It is a pretty straightforward computer use roll to switch between the two, since you have now seen both of them. Howvere you can't ignore the possibility of FUBAR. Or the fact that some Imperial communication will be encrypted beyond the level you had access to previously.]
[The fact it was encrypted in this case is basically a case of lazy GMing. I couldn't be bothered to think of what they were saying. Sorry.]

[sorry took so long to reply on this thread, been away from computer]
As Y'lemon drops his subtle hint Jarakel pauses, almost impercerptibly, for a moment. By the time Raffie comes to talk to him, you will notice that he has been taking the group on a heading slightly more in the right direction. In Shistavanen;
"I made a mistake, I'm sorry. I got confused by this planet, and was eager to leave. Please accept my apology, myar. So far I have proved an incompetent bodyguard. There is a pass just a little further that will get us back on the right route."

In shistavanen; "We're navigating featureless terrain on an unknown planet with almost no preparation or equipment. No apologies. Just get us back to the ship. Besides, you've already saved my life once in the past few hours." He indicates the bruising visible on the side of his neck that the spider left him. "If you hadn't been there.."
Raffie looks around, judging how much light is left and how close they are to the caves in the hills. Also, can I make a spot check or sense motive or something to see if I noticed Y'lemon's subtle hint?

[but it was so subtle. It was hidden in small talk and everything]
'Friends!' says Y'Lemon so that even those who are walking further behind can hear 'it's getting dark again. Jarakel has taken us to an area with some caves [implying that it was his plan to do so]. I suggest we find one as quickly as we can and prepare some shelter for the night.
[Can I see a cave. If not, it might make sense to split up. Particularly as we'll need one with some depth to it].

*Spot Checks*
You're quite high up now, and the views, if nothing else are spectacular. The sky here seems to be grey most of the time, but is lit up with blues and purples at sunset. The landscape beyond the hills is less visible, but the hills themselves are quite impressive.
Everyone can see some cave entrances. Raffie can see all of them.

Raffie picks a nearby one that looks about the right size and like it might be deep enough. I indicate it and say "Let's check that one out. And we'd better find something for fire."

[You can find plenty more of the scrub type stuff. I can't think of other stuff you guys need to do, I assume you are keeping Pong on watch again. Shall we skip to next morning?]
The sun seems to rise a little earlier the next day. The air is a little colder, and clouds seem to be gathering on the southern horizon. Y'lemon has a brief conversation with Siaz and then picks a direction to head in.
It's very definitely not the exact opposite of the direction you were walking yesterday. But if Y'lemon was just being kind and wanted to retrace Jarakel's steps without being obvious about it, he'd probably pick this direction to go in.
