"It's getting damn cold, guys. Any idea how long it's gonna take us to find the Sun? If we're gonna be out here overnight we should think about making a fire, I guess."

Agreed. I suggest sheltering in the mouth of the mine for the first night. A fire at the entrance will keep the cold out, and Pong can keep an eye out for those spider-things. Not that I think they'll venture out to the surface. That gives us a little while to find some way of keeping ourselves as warm as possible before the sun sets. I don't think we should worry about food just yet - we have rations for a couple more days.

Pong:
I am sorry master, but my energy reserves are running low. How long will it take us to reach the ship, I have about 32.6 hours of power remaining. Will I be able to recharge before then?

"C'mere Ping-Pong, I'll see if I can help."
Lu calls the mining droid over and opens it up. She yelps and jerks her arm away as a spark flies up her screwdriver. She looks slightly sheepish.
"[Nervous laugh] Wrong terminal..."
With a little more caution, she fastens some wires to the droid's power cell. She powers down Ping-Pong and attempts to fasten the wires into his cell in such a way that the translator droid can leech power off the other.
[I'm guessing Repair check for that approach, rather than Computer Use. I'll roll it when I post my char sheet, hopefully tonight. Or you could roll for me, my Repair modifier is +1,412]

[Feel free to roll it. It is repair, computer use is for droid software, repair is for droid hardware.]

Jarakel sniffs the air.
"Will take look around. Be back in 5 minutes."
[just scouting the surrounding area, with appropriate Hide, Move Silently and Survival checks]

You look to have come up in the foothills of larger mountains. The area is rocky with little vegetation beyone grass and scrubs. The main decoration in the area however is rocks, which stick up out of the ground like the filling of a pie that's been overheated.
The air is bitingly cold, Jarakel can smell some sort of small rodent like creature and something more feline too, but only the rodent is leaving tracks. It seems to be a burrowing rodent, as the tracks lead into small holes.
The area seems to have hardly ever been travelled by civilised beings. There is no sign of habitation or transportation at all. There are crests to both the north east and the north west. Directly north seems to be a short valley, with rolling rocky terrain filling the rest of the compass.
Far to the south you can see the town. it's too far away to make out any people, but you catch sight of an AT-AT as well as TIE fighters and Shuttles heading for the skies.

Pong:
Zzzzbrt, Zzzzbrt. Thank you mistress. I believe that should take care of the problem. I will happily keep watch for you Master Y'lemon, just let me know where.
[How are you guys intending to build a fire?]

Lu smiles and continues to tinker with the mining droid, wondering if anything else can be scavenged from it. While its chassis isn't likely to be useful, nor most of its processing capacity, it might have useful subsystems to rip out - perhaps in its sensory array.

[Well, there are a lot of subsytems, including: Sensors, Sonar, Plasma Torch, Mining Lasers, Short Range Communication, Topographic Processing. But it seems unlikely you could get any of them to work if they were detached from the droid.]

Lu stops tinkering, slightly confused by the wiring and the connections that link the various bits of hardware together inside the mining droid's shell. She frowns and wrinkles her nose pensively. Laying aside her hope of scavenging parts from the robot, she instead settles down, cross-legged, and begins to study it, attempting to understand how it's all put together.
[When we have to move on, she'll probably carefully extract the Sonar system if she can, and maybe the Plasma Torch too.]

[If you took the droid with you and had more time to study it, you could almost certainly remove some systems for adpatation into a dorid of your own design. I originally thought you were looking for immediately helpful equipment rather than a longer term goal. ]

[God no Is the droid still mobile, or is it totally out of power? If the latter, can I carry it with my puny muscles? (i.e. Is it possible to take it with us?)]

[No it has some power left. And it's low-power mode does not prevent it travelling.]
