On seeing the ape come through the jungle Grey Wolf's face hardens with determination. There is no way he wants to lose the arcane power that is beginning to build within him.
As the beast screams out his sonic burst he maintain his concentration but with a small portion of his mind he stamps down his foot to flip up a large flat chuck of tree bark at his feet. It springs up momentarily as a shield in front of him appearing to absorb the blast sound and allow him to continue to weave his incantation. [can I activate my iron skin concentration reflexively to absorb it and still keep shaping my spell?]

[No. But that is a nice stunt with the surrounding environment.]
The Solars respond to the attack with a flurry of activity, reacting as fast as their essence fuled bodies allow. Kairos leaps, twisting in the air trying to parry a sound with a significant amount of success, but not as perfectly as he normally manages. Raiden's reaction are fast enough, though he is forced to break out of his invisible stance he dives into the zone of silence created by Kairos. Grey Wolf is forced to hold his magic and do almost nothing, but his quick thinking with the bark saves him from the brunt of the burst. Zaph has tried simply to slam his hands over his ears and roll himself into a foetal position to protect his head, but the look of pain on his face shows he hasn't been fast enough either.
[Kairos takes 2B. Grey Wolf takes 2B. Zaph takes 4B]
Kairos' leap continues and he seems to have caught the great ape by surprise as he leaves a huge gash trailing through it's leg. The flesh of the ape seems to sizzle under the touch of the cold iron sword, but the strange bark-like quality of the skin seems to absorb some of the impact.
[Ape takes 3A. Kairos has successful 2 dice stunt.]

[My bad. You take no damage. Given the position you have now put yourself in getting a surprise attack will be harder, you'll get a bonus from being recently invisible still though.]

[Sorry about the long delay.]
Out of the corner of its eye the ape sees Kairos advancing on it, the light shining off his blade. As it wheels to face the Zenith caste, it perceives a slight flurry of motion and for a second, it seems there might be a second person there. But it must have been a trick of the light. There is nobody there but Kairos.
Then there is another flicker of motion, and pain.
As Raiden's shadow-limned form moves into the cone of silence cast by Kairos, he scoops up a nearby fallen tree-branch, and slips into the same stance as the Zenith caste, wielding the branch like a sword. Studying Kairos' every move, he becomes a perfect mirror image. And as he does so, his form becomes dark and indistinct. From the ape's perspective, Raiden is indistinguishable from Kairos' shadow.
Once within striking distance of the ape, he rolls to one side in a blur of motion, faster than the eye can see, and drives the twisted black metal of his baneclaw into the monster's flank.
[using "It's not the fact you stabbed me - it's the fact you did it while my back was turned" combo]
[stealth pool 14 plus 4 from excellency, plus any stunt dice]
[martial arts pool 13 plus accuracy(?) plus 11 from excellency (13 if I'm allowed to count specialty dice towards the excellency limit), plus any stunt dice; I am hoping for a surprise attack; and would quite like to use seven points of weakness strike but can't remember how it works]
[sorry if I've missed anything in the above mechanics, I don't have the rulebook in front of me]
[NB: have edited this a couple of times for typos, including getting my dice pools wrong]

[Vote for 3d stunt (since I can't be in the room to go "wow" as per the rules). ]
