Linguistics charm:
Min essence 4: Min linguistics 5: perm.
Lets you use your performance, presence and socialise attacks through the written word, unless they have the keyword 'obvious.
Sound like it's worth a proper write-up?

I'd be interested in it Might I suggest one prereq be an appropriate excellency from Per / Pre / Soc in order to use those?

Makes sense.
I was also thinking of Twisted Words Technique as another prereq

Yeah, that's the other one I was thinking of.

I like it. Need to think carefully about the implications. Does it make any linguistics charms redundant?

I don't think so. If it did, there'd be a case for making the soon-to-be-redundant charm a prereq so you can't just skip whole sections of the tree.
Basically, it means you can write a letter that could contain a command as with Hypnotic Tongue Technique, make any reader of it fall in love with you, as per HSDD, change somebody's memory, as with MRD, or propoganda to change a societ's beliefs, as per Wise eyed- courtier technique
I see it as significantly less powerful than, say, using HSDD along with Commanding Presence of Fire, but it gives you some excellent stealthy options, since you can ply your tricks from afar. In terms of the Greyfalls scenario, we could have done all our social tricks from the comforts of Tredemin (assuming you had the charm). A big advantage but not as powerful as other essence 4 charms.

I think this sounds really good. Having the extra stealthy options will come in very handy. Lets face it, up till now there have been times when we have been a bit too obvious for our own good
