Wanted to start a thread to look back at story 1 and talk about how it went. What did people think worked? What did people think didn't work? A few of my thoughts are below;
I was really happy with the emotional arc of the story overall, especially the ending and everything that happened in the final couple of sessions.
I think combat with as many characters as we have tends to be slow and annoying, and is one of the reasons we've had so little.
I really liked all the mini-sessions and how well having a lot of individual plot threads has worked.

As I mentioned to BSR in person, I think the way the story ended was ideal - i.e. we kind of succeeded, but at a massive cost, and suffered the realisation that it's going to be a lot harder than we thought. But nonetheless we have something to be proud of.
I also agree that the group size has been a hindrance at times - especially during combat, but not only then - and that the individual plotlines and mini-sessions (or at least mine) have been super fun.

Thirded.
I loved the ending of the story especially.

Yeah, awesome ending fourthed. I really liked when the realisation of having moved too quickly sunk in and we had to make the difficult decisions about where to cut our losses (e.g. Maluka). Also Fox and Azir arguing about whether to abandon Tredamin, after the retaliatory firebombing and Ctrine Pox, though short was kind of a defining point for the story as well. Especially since it's Fox who initally convinced Azir of the worth of what they were doing! Naïveté and hubris galore

Especially since it's Fox who initally convinced Azir of the worth of what they were doing! Yeah, I enjoyed that too. Two reasons for Fox's turn-around: 1. He's well pissed off about how badly we fucked up; 2. He's gone up to Conviction 5

I do like cohesion in my RP parties in general, but some of the IC conflicts have been great in this story. I'm glad they haven't dragged out though.

Yay, another Conviction 5 char :-D
I'd say we are fairly cohesive - none of us have horribly conflicting personalities, temperaments or goals. As you say the main issues we've had have (for the most part, barring the whole Compassion/interrogation debacle) were great, and I cite the slavery/indentured service confusion as another good example.
I would agree with BR though that group size might be a bit unwieldy at times, especially where we're deciding on courses of action as opposed to just having a mission to achieve.

It is - in a way it was designed like this, the roster wsa supposed to be 6 on the expectation that only 4 or 5 would be at most sessions. i think we do have some good ways to work round it though, and as has been mentioned i've loved the mini-sessions.
