No, those make sense now. I think I was confusing myself in the example As presented it allows a reasonable combo of Master of All Trades Tech + Building on Foundation Knowledge. My fear was that MoATT would actually change the value of the augmented ability (since mechanistically it is replacing the base Craft ability with a new one), allowing BoFK to cap out higher than it ought to.

I'm confused to. I've modified my first post so it includes the charms we have so far, as I currently understand them. Let me know which bits I've got wrong. That looks good to me. I think the one thing that needs changing is that the BoFK charm works both ways. ie. magical can enhance mundane, but mundane can also enhance magical.

How about...:
Building on Foundation Knowledge Min: Craft (mundane) 2, Essence 2 Type: Supplemental Keywords: Combo OK Duration: Instant Cost: Variable Prerequisite Charms: Master of all Trades Technique
Lawgivers who seek to master or replicate the wonders of the First Age have often built up a significant store of more mundane knowledge in preparation for their forays into more magical fields. This charm supplements a dramatic action using Craft (magical) by mining their stores of the associated mundane Craft ability and drawing out the relevant ideas.
If the Solar has Essence 3, they are also able to utilise the converse and boost their mundane abilities through application of more esoteric techniques.
A Solar may spend 1m per dot of Craft to increase his dice adding limit on a magical craft roll to [Attribute + Craft (magical) + Craft (associated mundane)]. However, this bonus may not increase beyond [Attribute + Craft (magical) + Craft (magical)]. If the Solar is Essence 3+, then a mundane craft roll can be augmented in the same way by the appropriate magical analogue.
-----------------------------
Also been thinking about those alternative magical craft names. Some suggestions:
Magical air - Circuitry, Circuitomancy, Currents, Transduction Magical fire - Pyrognostics (the changing of properties due to application of fire), Pyrokinesis, Pyrometallurgy or Magilurgy (appropriate but linguistically ugly!)

that's a good modification.
i like your names;
circuitomancy and transduction are good, but i want to make sure we have the concept of miniturisation included as well ideally....
it's now officially call pyrognostics. cos that is awesome. ;D

but i want to make sure we have the concept of miniturisation included as well ideally.... energy flow + electronics + miniaturisation in one term... don't think we're really gonna get better than circuitomancy since you want the moon on a stick ;D Only other one I had in mind was Craft (Æther) but that's prob a bit nebulous

I don't think 'magitronics' quite cuts it. ('megatronics' on the other hand... ) Technomancy?

technomancy could work. it's not ideal, but it's also wide enough to work.

Yikes. Will read this later, but if I'm going to need to know it by next session, can someone catch me up? I'm assuming I won't, though, since Fox is: "Craft? You mean, like, making stuff?"

You don't need to know it unless you're planning on becoming a craftsman. The first post is being edited so that it contains the most up do date versions of the charms.

Bump this too, since it influences the craft discussion for SH's benefit. Obviously this is a solar charm thread though, so Lunar's would need different charm sets.
I think it would be cool to have a central repository of all of our homebrew exalted charms. WwW seems the best place - how would Blackrat feel about that? Oneiros has a wiki as an alternative. Then we could keep a stickied thread with a link to it.
Cos we have these craft ones, Fox's MA tree, CS is writing some investigation ones, and a lot of us have talked about inventing some lore ones....

Ooh, is SH planning a crafts-beast? I'm more than happy to have the wiki (Manse of Shared Dreams - oneiros.scribblewiki.com) house a repository for GO material. I really want to put some of the AIP stuff up there too for posterity.
