Speaking of getting involved with humans when we shouldn't, I feel the crew of the Hidden Sun (and The Missing Peace, and A Place to Stand) is missing the pre-requisite central human hero.
Are we deviating from the original Star Wars format? Bucking the system? Breaking the force wall? (Natch.)
Hell no! So, I propose we make Stephen a heroic character, who from humble origins as an almost-blown-up kid janitor, becomes a great Jedi/general/dancer/Hutt. As to how, well, he could start out by taking a level of tech specialist on our ship...
Wait. Did BSR have this planned already?

I don't see why we need the human hero. The Star Wars galaxy is a rich and varied tapestry and the only reason most of the heroes are human is lack of imagination or lack of budget. I like the fact we've got some unconventional species combinations in our crew.

But... but...
Yes, it's cool to have a game that's alien-centric, but I just like the idea of having a human on board. He could play another sidekick character along with Siaz, the Gamorrean and Ping-Pong. I guess I like the idea of the unlikely guy from humble beginnings becoming a hero, and he seems perfect for that role.

I know what you mean. But I don't really want to load the party up with NPCs. I'd much rather have the campaing focus on you four guys than have two many other people running around.

He is. Which is one of the many reasons he won't be turned into a hero character anytime soon. If everyone else is in love with JDs idea about a human hero then I can put one in, but I still don't think it's great, and it certainly won't be stephen.

I'm relatively sure the Stephen-as-hero idea was mostly a joke. I mean, why would Stepthn be the hero in a universe that includes Corran?

Or Mirax?

Because Corran ultimately isn't that cool? An emotionally stunted poor-man's Han? About as charismatic as a brick?

I am deeply deeply in love with Corran. Whilst I am GMing the system he will have all attributes at 18 and all skills at max. So you better respect him.

Of course, after all those natural 20s I rolled at you you're pretty much my bitch, so you just pass him along to old Y'Lemon when I tell you to.
