I figure we could have a thread describing some stuff we've done together as a crew before we got together for this run, and when Y'lemon has been on the ship too. You know, for roleplay...
In the spirit of true lameness, I can't think of anything, so I leave up to you guys to get us started... though we did run guns for the Republic... where? Why? Did we do it for the money or because the Empire is a xenophobic bunch of bastards? Who is Cardinal Mendoza, our mysterious contact?

i think this is a really cool idea. and i will award XP if stuff comes from it. if you are lacking in inspiration checking out the timeline of galactic history from Wookieepedia might help. we're roughly 8.5 ABY in the conventional New Republic dating system. try not to check out to much of what comes after that. i'm guessing most of you know anyway, but it'll be cooler if you are unaware of upcoming plot "twists".

When does the Bacta War happen? On Wookieepedia the main timeline claims its during 7 ABY, but the Thyferra entry says its in 8 ABY. Not that that really matters, but I like the idea we ran Bacta to Coruscant to help save the non-humans there from the Krytos virus. All worthy and stuff, and also giving us extra-Republic cred, and the possibility of having met big characters from the universe.

the bacta war is more like 7 ABY. and yeah, running bacta would have been cool.

Ok, how about this: we were actually *on* Coruscant (the lot of us, though maybe not together, at first) when the Krytos virus was released? We could have all been taken to the same treatment or quarantine sectors for extra interaction with Y'lemon. He could have encouraged the Republic to save us, as he knew we were good guys from the gun running and he knew we could help the Republic run bacta from Thyferra to Coruscant once Thyferra was liberated. That way we could have had interaction with (and immense gratitude towards) Y'lemon, maybe even Rogue Squadron and have even more of an excuse to hate the Imps (especially if we were one of the view surviving transports - it gives us that 'old veteran' type camaraderie with some Republic types).

(this is sort of a grey area, and i don't want to discourage any cool backstory-ness, but it's something else to consider)

Well, we only really need to have *survived* the Krytos encounters; hell, a couple of Rebel Commanders might remember us for pegging it before we were meant to but still making it back to Coruscant alive. I just want to have met a few characters in the universe alongside with the rest of the crew, because I think it would lead to cool roleplay opportunities such as: "Huh-huh, that Talon Karde, is, like, huh-huh, a thingy..." and "Ooh Mirax, your hair is *so* pretty. You know, smuggling can be pretty lonesome..." Wait: did someone already try the last one? Darn. (because apparently we can't say damn

totally, i do not mean to discourage any cool backstory-ness. i love the canon characters at least as much as you guys and i'm happy for you to have met a few of them (as long as it's not gratuitos ) from what i remember of Ylemon's story he is unlikely to have been on coruscant at the appropriate time is all i meant. the ship can certainly have been, and there would undoubtedly be some coolness associated with that if we can work out a way for you guys to be involved without dying, which is worryingly easy to do when you hang around rogue squadron and yeah the not swearing thing is fucking annoying

and yeah the not swearing thing is f**king annoying On the other hand, finding out what the board changes the offending words to is arseholes of fun In terms of backstory and xp, could we not earn xp that we spend on our modern characters - sort of like a delayed learning effect. Also, the specific dates for Y'Lemon are malleable. I can't remember if the story I gave you contains the bit where he's basically training, but is a waste of space and an all-round cuntface until he drops out for a while. Could have been with the posse during that time.

ok cool. that should be workable.
as for the XP thing, yes that is exactly what happens, the issue is of amount rather than existence. see relative XP earned for backstories vs first session.

That's cool - if he goes medieval he'll just have like swords and stuff - maybe a bow if he's lucky. I, on the other hand, will have at least a blaster pistol, at most a fully-armed starfighter, and will blow him back to the Dark Ages.
