Sorry to have to moan, but I feel it's necessary:
The combo rules aren't really working for me, so new plan:
To use a combo it must be written on your sheet, with a name (minor variations will be allowed). This costs no XP. And can be done spontaneously - as long as we don't feel it's holding up the game.
I really need some information off people's sheets. Specifically stuff like - intimacies, motivation virtues. Combat pools and charms would also be highly useful, to pitch combats at the right level.
Also, whilst I don't think this affects anyone as of yet - I do want any XP spent on the character sheet to be cleared with me.

Character sheets thread, which people should update every time they spend XP? Works (in theory) in other campaigns, though people will obviously forget to update. I don't like handing my sheet in between sessions, though, because I like to look at it to plan where my character is going. Also it's useful to have it around for PbP.
Combos - no problem, but why? What's not working for you about the current rules, and how will this change anything?
I have spent a little bit of XP, but I think I told you what I was doing at the time. It's nothing major anyway, just a few ability dots.

Yeah - it's not the sheets I need. And I like to keep my own too, so happy for people to keep doing that. But I need to have some idea of what people's capabilities are, and when to ask for virtue checks. So the character sheet thread is cool, but it would help me to just have a quick summary of the key points mentioned above seperately. And we don't have a full roster of sheets either.
As for XP spend, it's more becuase I wanna be a bit more fascistic than usual about IC training time and stuff - the reasons may well become clear at a later date. As I recall we had some downtime during the last session, and individual trainings at that point were cleared.
For combos, I don't think people are clear on when they are using a combo. The combo rules should be designed to allow combos - not to allow free charm use at any time. When someone declares a combo, they need to spend a WP and know exactly which charms they must, may or cannot use (the rules about how charms combine into combos are relatively complex - but also highly worthwhile). I'm not entirely sure this is happening. Though perhaps I am being needlessly pessimistic.

Ah I see - so the combo thing is about ST approval, basically. I didn't get that. Cool cool.

Okay, will have a think about formalising combos - think I've only used one in the first session. Not spent any XP yet either - might spend it on boosting my Craft (Water) once I check the crafting rules.
Happy with the idea of a char sheet thread to update each time.

Oh yeah - I'll try and remember to start a char sheet thread tonight. LH, can you make it sticky when we've got one?

I should also point out that by the originally proposed combo rules - the number of charms in the combo is limited by permanent essence. Which I'm now thinking may be slightly too harsh. So let's try perm ess +1 (or +2?)

Mm, I don't know - I think Ess. 2 creatures should be reasonably limited. How about Ess. Charms of any type + 1 Excellency? That way at Ess. 2 you can still combo the (oft-useful) Excellency in, for a total three charms, but you can't just throw together the three most powerful charms you have.
Happy to go with whatever, though.

[Also, this should totally go in the Rules thread rather than here.]

You are correct. I also like your plan. Unless there are toher contributions we can go with that.
