There's a reason that we tend to make characters with high valor and conviction, and low compassion and temperance; it's because the former 2 have mechanical benefits (not running away and regaining wp) and the latter 2 don't, or at least not obvious ones.
Since we're (I'm) munchkins this means that we go with the virtues that give us a mechanical benefit, which limits our character options.
I was thinking of a charm that worked like Phoenix Renewal Method, but that let you roll a different virtue to regain your wp. I also thought it might make sense to add that onto PRM - a charm that allows you to focus on one virtue.
Personally I prefer the second option. It sucks that you would have to buy a charm just to undo the damage wrought by not taking high conviction. It might as well do something else useful (but hardly gamebreaking) as well.

Speak for yourself - I take high conviction and high valour firstly because that's what makes a hero (IMHO) and this is a game of heroes, and secondly because it's fun to play someone different to myself. Purely RP reasons ... But yes, I agree with your proposal.

i've always thought it would make sense to tie the great curse related virtue into willpower recovery as well - that is supposed to provide the most central virtue to the character after all (though it doesn't always do so).

Ah - clear now :-) Thanks. And yes, I agree. Is there not a rule for that already? Perhaps I'm thinking of Hunter and Natures.

So are you suggesting that acting according to your Great-Curse virtue means you get wp back? Or that you roll your great-curse virtue to get willpower back?
If the answer to the second is 'no', could I get a ruling on PRM
