"Hey babe, it's me. Me 'n Sammy are settlin' in alright, but he's not as good in bed as you. How's cakes?
"Even with your glittering, you couldn't get Sammy to shag you. Oaf. Miss you. Cakes are alright, though it's a bit grander than Victoria Sponges at the moment. It's lucky you chose this week to be away; there are bowls all over the flat. Do you know when you'll be back yet?"
"I didn't know when he sent me, but I wonder if Marcus wants me to stay 'ere. There are only two Faustians in Mancester, and a new one's just appeared, so if I lived 'ere they'd 'ave practically doubled there numbers over night. I'll do whatever you want though babe. Check the internet. This seems like a reasonable place, and I can get you a job before you arrive - you're wicked enough to find your own better one when you get here. There's quite a good prof. boxing scene here, but the amateur stuff's crap. Still, one of the guys in the 'court' has offered me some work teaching self defence classes, so we'd still be eating, and you've been at me to move back to England ever since you got back onto the advanced course.
I have to find out a shit load more about the birdies here first, but even if we did move down here, we could always leave if it looked dangerous or anything. The other thought I had is that we would be nearer to Sadie. I don't know what you think about it, but it might make things a bit stabler for her if she could visit. Feel free to take some time to think about it, but any initial thoughts?"
[Have decided Ben's originally English. She hasn't got back to me about being a thrall yet, but she said she was happy for the moment, at least until her course was over, remaining the way she was born.]

I thought she didn't know you were a demon?

I skipped a little bit on from the brief conversation in my background, but in my background I told her all about the fall etc, I just told her that the Demon/angel and Ben were sort of cohabitating. I didn't write much about it. I probably decided to tell her because of all the things that went wrong before with people I loved, but I would have broken it to her very gently. By the time she began to learn any sort of detail, I would have been sure she still loved me and trusted that I was still me. The only lie I will have told her is that the demon only really comes out when Ben is endangered or on demon business, which I think is sort of true because when i'm with her I want to be with my girlfriend, not contemplating the abyss. I've also warned her that there are other supernaturals, but they use illusions to hide from humans and they shouldn't try to hurt her. We will also have come up with a code word to use if ever I ask her to do anything she thinks weird, or that might give away too much information about me, so she can be sure it's really Ben who's asking.
Even though I could be out patrolling the streets to stop any sort of dangerous criminal activity when I'm inside watching tv with her, I think that understanding and thus propogating love is the most powerful way I can help humanity (not to mention the social problems of vigilanti-ism). She was an ardent spiritualist before (as I said in my background) so my memories took some reworking of her views, but she seems to be explaining it in terms of her thought by assuming that angels are embodiments of the energies around us and so can only be corporeal in human bodies. She was nervous in case sharing his body with an angel might change Ben, but I keep reassuring her that he still loves her and she trusts him (I know she trusts him:) ). She hasn't got back to me on the thrall question yet. I pointed out that it would partly endanger her, like sticking a large supernatural star on her head, but would also make it difficult for other supernaturals to fool her and that I can help her learn a couple of things quickly etc (but the downsides don't really outweigh the upsides in my opinion). I'd have made sure she knows it's her choice though.

"Hey angel, Sammie and I are on our way back. He's got homesick you know...Oh alright, this place is fucked up, no way am I bringing you here. I've got on a place at a tournament in Wales - as a favour since one of the organisers has fought at our club - so I'll go there before I come home, to try and make back the money I paid for the entrance fee here. I'm glad your stuffs going well. Ring you when we're safely settled with the sheep f*ckers...no I wont say that to anyone there. Love you sweetheart."
Now for Marcus.
"It's Sandy. You get my email? Yeh, they're back to two; and I'd say only one and a half at that. Didn't want to say it all in the mail, fuck it, I don't want to say it at all with that astrologer about, but I think they're dangerous. Yeh...yeh, she did, yeh a few people were hurt. Yeh. Yeh, but she was doing it accidentally. We know what that's like. She just needed a time out, good ol' penitential trip to India to see the sacred red indian burial sites or something. Nah, they didn't contact me. Marcus, I'd have stopped them altogether, but if they'd spoken to the tyrant and the court had voted I s'pose I'd have had to have gone along with it. But they didn't.
They're more dangerous than her in my opinion. When she was scared, or desperate, or confused then bad, tainted shit would happen, but logically, of their own, calm free will they planned to torture and then murder her. Yeh. And like I said, the other one had already sort of mentioned that she was worried about his association with the raveners. Even the raveners in this place are saner than him. It's retarded to worry about the hell taint of someone's soul and then consume them, destroying your own. I'm getting out of here before they come for me. Paranoid fucker. She was just a little girl as well. Obviously she was a demon, but she didn't remember much at all, and the girl she was in seemed good; she even managed to convince me to question our right to fight the vampires. Haha, yeh. No definitely a Faustian, not a Reconciler bone in 'er. Yeh, so I'll be coming back anyway. If it weren't important to have representatives in each court I'd probaby suggest getting the astrologer out, to somewhere safer you know. From the sound of it she was fucking vile to our gravedigger, but not nearly as bad as the craftsman.
He broke into her house with a magicked gun and everything; said she knew his true name, when she clearly had no idea what he was talking about. I protected her that time, but he wouldn't listen to me at all. I know I'm not that superior to him, but he was bloody rude. If they weren't all frothing raveners I'd suggest sending a letter to the tyrant or someone advising them to keep and eye on him...hell taint and all...but probably not much point. Just don't rely on him for any staunch Faustianing. It's possible he's slightly better in his personal life, but I saw no evidence of this. He's a private detective if you didn't know, taking money for destroying lives.
Yeh, if they get the kid out alright then he can stay with them when he gets here, otherwise we'll get him here. Nah, still no idea who he is and he didn't know 'Old Speak'. I was thinking and it's even stranger him not knowing it, what with the Buddhist holy book, 'the Budapest' being written in 'Old Speak' in Africa...you'd think he'd have come across it. Might be harder to adopt this one, people'll notice the lack of paternity. Hah, could send him to boarding school to protect his 'sister'...you don't think ancient beings enjoy being adopted or given detention? Fair enough.
Other than them eating the girl I was here to look after? Yeh well, I've decided they aren't my sort of people. Yeh, so before that..I told you that the astrologer wasn't keen on the ravener connection...other than that I thought they were a bit rash and stupid. If they saw a supernatural they'd just wander up to it and ask it 'what it was'. I had to intervene at one point because the astrologer was about to pound some man's head in, in plain sight, to find out what he was. Some vampire's servant I think. That was the other thing...they planned to just storm the vampire's headquarters with no idea how many there were, how powerful, anything. I think they are looking at some information searching now, so they might live out the week. The one thing I will say though, they do have a good relationship with the others at the court. Maybe a bit too friendly from a faction point of view, but useful for their work.
Anyway, I'll be back in a fortnight. Sorry about all this, but I don't think I'll be staying here for any permanent period. I'm actually leaving tonight. The Fien...astrologer might have realised I wasn't overly enthusiastic when he told me what happened. It'll be nice to see you Marcus. I think you and Ben have more in common that you did with the female I was previously acquainted with. Bye mate."

"Huh. So, their politics are drifting a little towards the local norm, then? Well, if that's the case I'm not eager to just up and leave them to their own devices. Besides, I really want to know what A.D.'s boys are up to down there. The Lord Inquisitor reckons he- well, I don't want to give too many details away, like you said. Suffice to say now is a time I really don't want the Raveners to be coming at us out of our blind spot.
"Uh-huh. Yeah, what did you say the kid's name was? Ok. We'll have someone keep an eye on him. Yeah.... sorry? You found an Enochian text in Budapest? Why is th- oh. It's called Budapest. And it's the what? Buddhist?" Silence for a second. "Uh, right. Well, that... aside - yeah. Yeah, I'll probably be in touch with them about that - finding out some more about vampires can't hurt. Maybe we can swap a few tips.
"You're what? Leaving tonight? Whoah, these guys really have got you spooked if you didn't have time to, you know, request a transfer. Look, I'm going to speak to my Lord Tyrant about this. But unless you actually think you're in significant danger from them yourself, I'm guessing he'll agree with me: we can't afford to just pull out the only guy we can trust down there at this stage. I mean, it's not like I envy you in that Ravener nest as it is, but if the alternative is waking up one morning to find them all waltzing over the border...
"Well, like I said I'll speak to the Overlord. Stay put until then, ok pal?"

"For a few days, at most. I didn't agree to come down here permanently in the first place. And if that fucker eats me..well...taking him down is your business, but you'll look after my kid yeh?"

"You're there for as long as the Court needs you there, Psandriel. You'd do well to remember that.
Don't worry about the kid. We'll take care of her. I'll be in touch."
He hangs up.
