Hey All,
Me and LH have been discussing this recently and we were thinking about the schedule for future gaming.
We're beginning to think that Exalted Modern isn't working hugely well, and though we could find ways to change it a bit, the one-off exalted session we had at the weekend made us feel that we'd like to return to the original setting.
So depending on the general feeling I am offering to run a DB game or to resurrect the solar campaign i had going ages back. I'm still intending to run my DK game whenever that supplement eventually comes out, but who knows when that would be.
If we did resurrect the solar game, I'd want to think about character creation very carefully, basically the invite list would be everyone from Exalted Modern with the addition of Shrubbery. But with six players people would have to be prepared for occasional slowness.
It would also leave us with three ongoing campaigns i.e. Star Wars, Exalted and DnD which i think is the maximum we can handle.
What does everyone think?

Yeah... I was going to give people a chance to carry on if they wanted, and it might be something we do with a smaller party if people are still keen, but I don't think the setting works as well as the original, and since so many of us want to do campaigns, there's no use flogging a dead horse.
Except literally. That would be funny.
So PM me if you want to carry on

I think the reason Exalted Modern might be a bit struggling at the moment is the gaps in time between the sessions. It's hard to get a feel of momentum, of the story moving on each time, with little bits of plot clicking into place. With Star Wars it feels more episodic, and so we get our stuff during the session done, and are ready at the end of the session with our next crazy plan of action. If we all got on the boards more, maybe, we could get that feeling of moving on between sessions more, I'm not sure.
Unhelpfully, I'm happy to continue with Exalted Modern or to switch to something else. A Dynastic DB would be hilarious. "Cower, mortal!". Heh.

Solars or Lunars! Solars or Lunars!
DBs are clearly bad guys.

But dragon bloods would be interesting, I've never been a dragon blood and I've read the books and I'd like to be able to kick slaves and go to Cynis parties and I might be a monk so I wouldn't have babies...unless I'd had babies before I became a monk.
But solar/lunarness could be done too. Luke and JD's idea could be implemented for Lunars? Or...we could play our exalts back in the first age, our shards not the same characters, and we could play them in a different order if you see what I mean. Or we could do anything made of cheese.

I had planned to recreate my Aladdin character from BSR's 1st campaign.
On the other hand, the real Aladdin may be a Zenith. 'A Whole New World' is clearly an instance of Husband Seducing Demon Dance.

I have ideas for both DB or Solar. and i might invite more than 5 people, and vote that we don't worry about perfect circle.
also, i'm happy to have recreated characters, but i think i'm gonna disallow merits and flaws this time round, cos i think we've all been getting a bit silly with them (myself included). however, cool stuff written into a background will be awarded extra points by me.

Will we get any starting xp?
Not that I've already made 2 solar characters, one of whom is actually a bard, but an *exalted* bard. Because that would be sad.
Also, could we not just be more sensible with merits and flaws. Some of them are really cool, and add flavour.

my mum is how you actually talk. Beat me to it, damn you ---- 1. I would really like to see BSR's solar campaign resurrected (and have been saying so for a while). However, this would be entirely pointless for me if we weren't allowed Merits / Flaws. My character was designed based on crazy mechanics, and I loved him to bits, so if we're not allowed to "be silly" about character creation then I'm not so bothered as I'd need to create a new character anyway. 2. If that doesn't happen, I've played some DB characters that were great fun and I'd jump at the chance to reprise them. 3. Alternatively, Lunars or anything else; I'm easy (like my mum). I might even be radical and suggest that we don't necessarily have to play an Exalted-based campaign... (*shock*) There are loads of great systems out there, so there's no need to confine ourselves to this one (although it is of course great). I've expounded on the ones I know about over on the ADCorp forum in the past, as those who are on there might remember, and other people there made suggestions too. If people are that keen to read it, I can copy-paste to here :-) 4. I agree that it'll be difficult for people to be involved in 3 campaigns at once, though - and I may not even manage that. ( BSR - especially if Cthulhu is coming back?) Those are my thoughts. I have others, but they're not really relevant here. Oh, except: 5. LH, I reserve the right to unceremoniously abuse you, without fear of retribution, for the rest of your entire life and beyond, if you play a bard. Blackrat

Although I've only made the one character, and he doesn't have merits and flaws. He is a kickass night caste however.
