Escape from the Basement of Doom

"She's busy and we don't have much time. It's on you, friend!"

Running and grabbing the grenade from Y'Lemon, Jarakel returns to room 4. He is about to busy himself setting up the explosives when he notices the door to room 6. He shouts:

"Another door! Will try this first!"

With that, he does so.

The structural damage in this area of the basement isn't badly damaged. A thermal detonator might bring down enough to create a barrier within the stairwell room, but it doesn't seem likely that these grenades can do enough damage.

*Listen Checks*

Raffie and Y'lemon can both hear footsteps at the top of the stairs. They seem to be moving slowly, which makes sense because you remember the stairway being a bit shaky and rubble strewn.

Jarakel charges into room 6, to find the building's ventilation system, The room is full of machinery whirring away. There seem to be air ducts moving upwards, along with some large fans, which are moving somewhat slowly and jerkily.

Jarakel, getting hoarse, shouts:

"Air vents here. Switch it off, we get out?"

Some of the party might fit through these vents, but certainly Jarakel would have trouble. There are some controls in front of you, but it's not really clear to you what any of them do. And most of them seem to lead up. A seconds thought and you can work out that what's directly above you is mostly rubble.

[Jarakel is smaller than the rest of the party, he's only about 5'2".]

Oh. I thought he was bigger. What size is everyone?

[Y'Lemon is the same size as LH. And slightly less furry if anyone's interested]

Jarakel looks at the vents for a moment, before deciding to check the door into room 7.

[Raffie is about 5'10'' I think and skinny. Difficulty with vents tho cos of his big head oh, I crack me up]

Raffie turns to the older of the two humans (now clad in Imp uniform I'm assuming?) and tells him "Stall them. Tell them to wait while your mate finishes pissing, then when they get impatient say you'll go and find out what's keeping him and come join us in that room there" (points at room 4). He gives the younger one a shove toward room 4, then runs to fetch Lu. "They're coming. We have to go." Stopping to check she's following, he runs to room 4. Makes a quick spot check to try and work out what's behind the door to room 5 and then one to size up the possibility of blowing it open with a grenade. Does the door open far enough to wedge one in the gap between it and the frame?

Lu sighs, brushes her hands off on her leather smock, and follows Raffie. Is Ping Pong fixed yet? If not she takes him with her, along with any tools etc., and carries on working...

She also grabs a commlink from the imperials' bodies, and will attempt to pick up Imperial signal channels on it when she's got a moment.

Y'Lemon follows along, giving The Empire's newest recruit a reassuring pat on the back and a whispered 'you'll be fine. May the force be with you' as he leaves.

The older human looks like he's about to wet himself, but he takes up position just ouside the stairwell.

Raffie goes in to room 1 to fetch Lu and heads back out towards room 4.

Y'lemon and the other human are heading down the corridor.

Jarakel has just left room 6 and is back in room 4.

*Listen checks*

As she leaves rooom Lu hears the footsteps in the stairwell a few seconds before her and Raffie both hear the voices. There's only time for a couple of words from each party.

Everyone hears the blaster shot.
